Strategic Account Manager - Houston - Petrochemical

Our client, a global leader and major supplier of industrial and specialty gases is seeking a Strategic Account Manager to focus on a specific market segment in the Petrochemical, Chemical and Refinery industries.  This individual contributor role will be responsible for the direct sales to key customers at the corporate level and will generate sales revenue from these major accounts.
They are seeking a dynamic individual with a proven track record in managing and growing key accounts that will be accountable for identifying, developing, and implementing strategies for major accounts.
This position will develop relationships with key decision-makers and influencers and will also be responsible for taking a leadership role in lead generation and new business acquisition for the market.  Will participate in managing and negotiating both existing and new contracts and will include working with internal legal involvement. 

  • Bachelor's Degree required 
  • 5-10 years in an account manager role out of industrial gas, chemical or petrochemical industry
  • Strong preference for background working with key or national accounts.
  • Experience negotiating contracts required.
  • Must be open to at least 30% overnight travel throughout the US.
  • Can work independently in a complex environment and participate in high level negotiations.
  • Exceptional business and communication skills.
