Our client is an international supplier of chemical technology for Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment, Oil & Gas, Geothermal and related applications. They provide chemical raw materials and technology from global manufacturers and are in need of an experienced chemical Technical Sales Representative to develop a Los Angeles based sales region. This is a newly created role and will be the first sales person for this company in the United States, working from a home office in Southern California. 

  • Generate leads, identify opportunities and close new sales of chemical materials for key application areas. 
  • Serve as a first line technical resource to answer customer questions and solve product application problems. 
  • Collaborate with the manufacturers for the chemical products to ensure products delivered on-time and  are promoted to capture maximum value. 
  • Manage pricing flexibility to maintain competitiveness and capture market share. 
  • Manage sales process for all prospects and customers from start to finish. 
  • Create required sales and call reports, market maps and account plans. 
  • Travel as much as 60% of time to service accounts and close supply agreements. 
  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 
  • At least 10 years of successful technical sales experience with chemical products into Water Treatment or Oil & Gas applications. 
  • Technical mindset to communicate technical solutions and to solve customer issues with complex chemical technology. 
  • An entrepreneurial mindset to create a completely new sales territory.
  • An ability to work independently from a home office. 
  • Ability to travel as required, as much as 60% of time.
